The Client
Founded in 1909, Shadow Mountain Community Church is an evangelical Christian megachurch affiliated with the Southern Baptist Convention. It’s a gathering place located in El Cajon, California, for learning and fellowship. The church also has ministries for children and kids in middle and high school, as well as multiple foreign-language congregations.
The Challenge
To build and install a rigging system to support audiovisual upgrades for the large megachurch. The client needed their LED wall to move during their services, so the applicable winch needed to be sized to properly fit in the space available.
Thern's Solution
Thern Stage Equipment provided a line shaft hoist and custom control system to easily operate the moving wall feature. Since the church had no wall space down below, the LED wall had to be moved from up above by a straight vertical lift using a line shaft hoist.
The Results
The main ministry of Shadow Mountain Community Church is their Sunday service, which regularly brings in over 10,000 people a week. This megachurch is now equipped to provide an enhanced worship experience for years to come.
